     Martha Butler was born circa August 1854 in Kentucky.¹ She married first Robert Lawrence, son of Ahmed Lawrence and Virginia Jane Dickerson. Martha Lawrence married second Alfred L. Lawrence, son of Ahmed Lawrence and Virginia Jane Dickerson, on 8 August 1921 in Barren Co., Kentucky.¹ Martha died on 11 October 1927 in Barren Co., Kentucky.¹

     Polly Butler was born circa 1784.¹ She married Walter Lawrence, son of Richard Lawrence and Constance ?, circa 4 December 1804 in Culpeper Co., Virginia.¹ Polly died between 1840 and 1850 in Kentucky.¹

     W. R. Butler was born on 13 May 1864.¹ He married Ella Lobelier Lann, daughter of Jerome Lann and Margaret Lenore Lawrence.¹ W. died on 21 October 1941 at age 77.¹ He was interred in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Batesville, Zavala Co., Texas.¹

     Simon Lafayette Butt married Polly Ann Tucker, daughter of John Tucker and Elizabeth Ann Lowdermilk, on 27 June 1858.¹

     Rebecca Butter was born circa 1659 in Massachusetts.¹ She married Jonathan Lawrence, son of John Lawrence and Elizabeth Waters, on 5 November 1677 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts.^2,1

     Unknown Buttrick married Elisabeth Lawrence, daughter of Eleazer Lawrence and Mary ?.¹

     Fred Byington married Dora T. Lawrence, daughter of Chester S. Lawrence and Hester Jane Baker, on 19 October 1892 in Adams Co., Illinois.¹

     M. C. Bynum was born circa 1870 in Blount Co., Alabama.¹ He married Columbia Augustine Adams, daughter of Zachariah Taylor Adams and Sarah Jane Lawrence.¹ M. died in Greensboro, Alabama.¹

     M. was also known as Mac.

     Joseph Byrd married Elizabeth Lawrence, daughter of Richard Lawrence and Alice Bunting, on 17 November 1791 in Monmouth Co., New Jersey.¹

     Alexander III of Byzantium was born in 870.³ Alexander died without issue in 913.²

     Alexios I Komnenos of Byzantium was born circa 1048.² He married Eirene Doukaina, daughter of Andronikos Doukas and Maria of Bulgaria, circa 1078.^2,3 Alexios died on 15 August 1118.² He was interred in the Monastery of Philantropos.²

     Alexios III Angelus of Byzantium was born after 1155.² He married Euphrosyne Kamatera Doukaina before 1195.² Alexios died after 1211 in captivity after being imprisoned by his son-in-law, Theodore Laskaris.²

     Alexios was also known as Alexius III.

     Alexius IV Angelus of Byzantium was born in 1182.² He was murdered in 1204. He died without issue.³

     Andronikos I Komnenos of Byzantium was born circa 1123.² Conflicting evidence states that Andronikos I Komnenos of Byzantium was born in 1118.³ He married second Agnes of France, daughter of Louis VII of France and Adelaide of Blois, circa 1183 in Paris, Seine, France.⁴ Andronikos was murdered on 12 September 1185 in Constantinople, Turkey.²

     In addition to his two wifes, Andronikos had several concubines by whom there are many children: Philippa of Antioch, daughter of Raymond of Poitiers (usually said to be the mother of Eirene); Eudokia Komnena (Gabraina), daughter of the sebastokrator Andronikos Komnenos; and Theodora Kalusine Komnena (some say the mother of Eirene), daughter of sebastokrator Isaakios Komnenes.

     Anna of Byzantium was born in 889.¹ She married Lewis III Beronides of Provence, son of Boso II of Vienne and Ermengarde of Germany, circa 900.¹ Anna died circa 962.¹

     Anna Porphyrogenita of Byzantium married Vladimir I Swjatoslawitsch, son of Svatoslav I Igorjewitsch and Malusja ?, in 989.¹

     Basil I of Byzantium was born in 811.² He married Eudokia Ingerina, daughter of Inger Martinakios?.³ Basil died on 29 August 886.²

     Basil II of Byzantium was born in 958.² Basil died without issue on 15 December 1025.²

     Christopher died in 934.¹

     Constantine died in 945.¹

     Constantine III of Byzantium was born in 960.² Constantine died on 15 November 1028.²

     Constantine VII Prophyrogenitus of Byzantium was born in 905.² He married Helena of Byzantium, daughter of Romanus I Lecapenus of Byzantium.³ Constantine died in 959.

     Constantine was dominated by his father-in-law and co-emperor, Romanus I, and he continued Romanus's policies- protection of the small landholders of Anatolia and aggression against the Muslim states of Mesopotamia and Syria- even after Romanus was banished from Constantinople (present-day Istanbul) in 944. He also maintained contact with the Russians and encouraged their conversion to Christianity. Constantine is mainly remembered as a scholar and patron of scholarship. His own works include De Thematibus (On the Provinces), a history of the various territories of the Byzantine Empire; De Administrando Imperio (On Imperial Administration), a treatise on foreign policy containing valuable information on the peoples of eastern Europe in the 10th century; and De Ceremoniis Aulae Byzantinae (Byzantine Court Ceremonies).⁴

     Constantine X Doukas of Byzantium was probably born in Constantinople, Turkey, circa 1003.² He married Eudocia Macrembolitissa.² Constantine died on 22 May 1067.²
