Narrative

Benjamin and Mary moved to Montgomery Co., Illinois, and then to Bloomington, Nebraska.

A Benjamin F. Byerly of the correct age and born in Virginia, appears on the 1880 U. S. Census for Bloomington, Nebraska with a wife and four children. The wife is not Mary Suzanna but may be a second wife. The two children that appeared on the 1860 U. S. Census are not listed but they could have married by this time. The two oldest children listed were born in Virginia. The third oldest was born in Illinois, which would agreed with their stated move to Montgomery Co., Illinios. The fourth child was born in Virginia, which could indicate that he returned to Virginia. It may be that Mary Suzanna died after the birth of the child in Illinois, and Benjamin returned home to Virginia, for help in raising his family. He may then have met Mollie who is listed as his wife on the 1880 U. S. Census and who also was born in Virginia. They in turn may have moved to Bloomington, Nebraska. I have been unable to locate the family on the 1870 U. S. Census. The forth child on the 1880 U. S. Census born in Virginia, may have then been a child of his second wife, Mollie.

Additionally, his brother Levi, also appears on the 1880 U. S. Census two dwellings away.
