Narrative

I believe that this John Harr was the son of John Joseph Harr. One of this John's daughters was named Rebecca which would have been the name of his mother and one of his sons was named William Morton Harr. One of John Joseph's daughters, Susannah, married a James G. Morton. Based on these name connections, I place this John Harr that appears on the 1850 U. S. Census for Sullivan Co., Tennessee, as a son of John Joseph.

This John Harr in addition to being a carpenter evidently ran a rooming house. There are an additional five borders, who appear unrelated, listed on the 1850 U. S. Census.

John evidently died before 1880 as Elizabeth is listed in the household of James C. Ford and Elizabeth (her daughter) as a widow. John Frederick Harr married first Elizabeth Deck.7
