     Mary Belle Henton was born in July 1876 at Virginia.2,1 Mary died on 24 March 1944 at Charleston, West Virginia, at age 67.3 She was interred at Woodbine Cemetery at Rockingham Co., Virginia.3

Miss Hinton Dies of Burns

     Miss Mary Belle Hinton, well known educator of the Rochingham community for a number of years, died at her home in Charleston, W. Va. from severe burns received recently when her clothing caught fire.
     Miss Hinton, who was known affectionately to her many friends as Miss "Molllie" Hinton, was born near Massanette Springs and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Ann Earman Hinton. She spent her early life in and around Harrisburg.
     After graduating from Madison College she taught school at Mr. Crawford, Bridgewater, and Dayton and Dublin Institute, near Radford, Va., and in the Roanoke schools for a number of years. At the time of her death she held a teaching position in Charleston, W. Va.
     She is survived by two sisters, Miss Betty Hinton and Mrs. Charlotte T. Hollar of Harrisonburg. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Miss Hinton was preceded in death by a brother, William Thomas Hinton, a well known landowner of Massanetta Springs section, on Dec. 31, 1943.
     Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the Lindsey Funeral Chapel on South Main Street with Dr. F. K. Haddaway, of the Harrisonburg Methodist Church officiating.
     Pallbearers will be D. Wampler Earman, Earl Hoover, Harrison Koontz, Hiram Earman, William Earman and L__er Myers. Burial will be in Woodbine cemetery.
     Miss Hinton had been a member of the Keezletown Methodist church early childhood.3
